Privacy Policy

Voice Clone ("the app") makes a copy of your voice on your iPhone. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version
Voice Clone does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no third‑party advertising, and no tracking. Your voice recording, the text you type and the clips the app makes stay on your iPhone. The app's only network connection downloads the voice model (see "The voice model download" below).
Your voice recording
With your permission, the app uses the microphone only while you record a voice sample. iOS shows the microphone indicator then. The app keeps one sample, in its own storage on your iPhone, and uses it to make your clips. Recording a new sample replaces the old one. The sample is never uploaded, transmitted, sold, or shared with the developer or any third party.
You can turn off microphone access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.
Your text and clips
The text you type and the clips the app makes are saved in the app's own storage on your iPhone, with each clip's text and language. The app also remembers the last text you typed and the language you chose. None of this is sent anywhere or accessible to the developer.
Each clip's audio file carries a label in its file information saying that it is AI-generated speech, so other apps and services can tell it is synthetic. The label holds no information about you.
Sharing and saving clips
When you choose to share a clip or save it to Files, the app hands the audio file to iOS. It goes only where you send it. The app shares nothing on its own.
The voice model download
The first time you generate a clip, the app downloads the voice model (about 1.9 GB) from Hugging Face (huggingface.co), where the model is published. The app sends nothing about you with this download. As with any web request, Hugging Face's servers receive your device's IP address; Hugging Face's privacy policy covers that. After the download, the app makes no network connections.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The app contains no analytics, no third‑party advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not include any analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not follow you across other apps or websites.
Cloning someone else's voice
Only clone your own voice, or the voice of someone who has agreed to it. You are responsible for how you use the clips you make.
Data retention and deletion
Because all data stays on your device, you are always in control of it:
- Delete a clip in the app (long-press it, then Delete) to remove it and its text.
- Record a new sample to replace the old one.
- Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes everything it saved, including the voice model.
The developer holds no copy of your data and so cannot access, restore, or delete it for you.
Children's privacy
Voice Clone does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised date.
