Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Pedometer ("the app") is designed to work entirely on your device. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version
Pedometer does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no third‑party advertising, and no tracking. The app makes no network connections. Your health and motion information, and everything the app works out from it, stays on your iPhone.
Health data (Apple Health / HealthKit)
With your permission, Pedometer reads these categories from Apple Health: steps, walking and running distance, flights climbed, active energy, and walking speed.
This data is read only to show today's totals, the charts, and the widgets inside the app. Specifically:
- Everything happens on your device. Your health data is never uploaded, transmitted, sold, or shared with the developer or any third party.
- Pedometer does not use your health data for advertising or marketing, and does not share it with third parties for advertising or data mining.
- Access is read‑only. The app never writes to, changes, or deletes anything in Apple Health.
- You choose which categories the app may read in Apple's Health permission screen, and can change that at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Pedometer.
Motion & Fitness (Core Motion)
With your permission, Pedometer reads today's step count, distance, and floors climbed from your iPhone's motion sensors. It does this to keep today's count in the app and its widgets current, including when Apple Health cannot be read. Like health data, this stays on your iPhone.
Information kept on your device
The app saves its latest totals for today and your daily goals in storage shared only between the app and its own widgets on your iPhone. They are not sent anywhere and are not accessible to the developer.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The app contains no analytics, no third‑party advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not include any third‑party SDKs, and does not follow you across other apps or websites.
The app shows one link to LifeTrends, another app by the same developer. Tapping it opens the App Store. The app sends nothing about you with it.
Data retention and deletion
Because all data stays on your device, you are always in control of it:
- Revoke Health or Motion & Fitness access at any time in the iOS Settings app. The app immediately stops reading that data.
- Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes everything it saved.
The developer holds no copy of your data and so cannot access, restore, or delete it for you.
Not a medical device
Pedometer is intended for personal interest only. It is not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Children's privacy
Pedometer does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
