Jobsite Calc ("the app") is a feet-inch-fraction construction calculator with stair, rafter, roof, concrete, materials and angle tools. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version
Jobsite Calc does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The app has no network code and makes no network connections. Everything you type stays on your iPhone or iPad.
What the app saves
The app keeps a few small things in its own storage on your device:
- your settings (fraction resolution, units, display formats, the stair and material defaults, appearance);
- a note of whether the one-time purchase has been made, so the tools open without asking the App Store each time;
- a count of how often the app has just been useful to you, which decides when it asks for a rating.
The calculator's tape, the list of your recent calculations, lives only while the app is open. None of this is sent anywhere or accessible to the developer. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
The one-time purchase
The app is free to download. One in-app purchase, made through Apple, unlocks the tools for good. There is no subscription and nothing renews. The purchase is handled entirely by the App Store: the app asks Apple whether your Apple Account owns the unlock, and Apple answers yes or no. The developer receives no personal data from the purchase. Apple's handling of your payment is covered by [Apple's privacy policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). The unlock can be shared with your family through Family Sharing, which Apple manages.
Sharing from the app
When you share the tape, the app hands the text to the iOS share sheet, and you choose where it goes. The app does not see or keep where you sent it.
Ratings and reviews
Occasionally the app asks iOS to show Apple's standard rating prompt. Whether and how that prompt appears is decided by iOS, and anything you type into it goes to Apple, not to the app.
Links
The Settings screen has links to this website and to an email address for support. Opening them leaves the app and uses Safari or your mail app. Email you send reaches the developer and is used only to answer you.
Children's privacy
The app has no accounts and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised date.
